Vaccine Changes

Posted on Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016.

This year Crossroads Animal Clinic has seen 3 significant vaccine reactions in our patients. While this is not a large number in comparison to the number of pets we vaccinate, it is still not acceptable to us. Our focus is Always providing the Best Care for your pets. Therefore, we have chosen to go with the vaccine companies that have done extensive research and have statistics showing their vaccines with minimal reactions (research done on the Leptospirosis vaccine showed only 0.04% reactions). Next time you are in with your Furbaby, feel free to ask us any questions or give us a call anytime.

A new strain of Canine Influenza – H3N2 – is present in Texas. Crossroads Animal Clinic has the vaccine against the new strain, and we will continue to carry the old strain – H3N8 – as well. Our clinic requires the new vaccine for boarding, grooming and surgery but if your pet needs the old vaccine for services elsewhere we are happy to provide it for you.
